singlespeedwk5 SRAM torpedo [f] & ]f[ hub

for me, THIS is thirteen different kinds of wrong, but admittedly, if it makes it to the north american market, it will find it’s niche.

the basic breakdown is that the hub can be switched from fixed to freewheel on the same side, same sprocket, with a few turns of a screwdriver. now, barring the fact that it weighs TWICE what a normal track hub weighs, thanks to all the thingamabobs and whatsits that cause it to work, there’s also no word on whether or not it can handle the stress of daily fixed riding. granted, it wouldn’t even have been produced if it didn’t pass some sort of testing phase, but still. i’m not convinced this would survive a mashsf video.

either way, interesting tech.
