Random Lopery!

thirdraildesignlab posted a photo:	This is the soft pack backpack from Sands Machine for their coupler system. Less protection than a hardshell suitcase, but hell, you can ride away from the airport, which was the POINT of this project. This fixed gear build features a custom-installed S&S coupler system, for maximum travel capabilities.Read the build logs and more on the Team Lope Tyre Clubbe site:www.teamlopetyreclubbe.com

tltcgen Flats and Tubes Flats and Tubes

11/14/08

Posted in: TLTC Items to Amuse by joblue | Comments (0)

I am experiencing more non-puncture flats than I had anticipated lately, and i was wondering if it had to do with tube size….I have 25′s on BumbleBike(tm), and the usual tubes I get are rated for 25-28′s. Is it a combination of the tube being too big and too much/too little psi?

Or, is it the high populations of unemployed ninjas here in NYC, looking for odd jobs and letting the air out of my tubes at night to stay busy and sharp?

I recently got a tube rated for 22-25, and have had good luck so far. Also, steering clear of ninja neighborhoods (Ninja Town, Ninja heights, Ninja Slope, Ninja terrace) has seemed to help.

yehuda.jpg

THIS has been fascinating me for the last several weeks.

the online comic "yehuda moon and the kickstand cyclery" is a FREE webcomic about a character (yehuda moon) who is one of those activist cyclists of an old-school fashion. he rides a steel bike, slowly, EVERYWHERE, and is constantly being chided by his boss/bizpartner for his choice of bike, and also for his naivete in thinking that he can change the world and get everyone on a bike.

it’s actually really entertaining as well as being sort of moving. in a series of strips, he gets a local mom onto a cargo bike, which she falls in love with, and then she starts working at the shop. it’s a sweet relationship to see — her giving up her car and actually really entertaining her child in the process, in addition to becoming quite mechanically adept. yehuda and his partner’s old boss shows up occasionally, too, though it’s alluded to that he’s a ghost, having been killed by a motorist on his bike. in fact the ghost bike in front of kickstand cyclery plays a major role in some of the strips.

give it a look!

PROLLYISNOTPROBABLY is a fixCentric cycling blog i picked up on the other day. no more or less informative than any of the other 333 cycling blogs i read on a daily, but fun nonetheless, and includes TONS of vimeo footage.

the name comes from the guy who runs it, john prolly.

please enjoy.
