so i was watching a cool video of a bike build at 10x speed (HERE), and was struck by a great tech tip therein.

often, one ends up with little holes in their frame that they don’t use. joblue ran into this on his first build, when he was wanting to fill the small holes left by his headbadge removal. in the video, it’s the filed-down water bottle cage mounting holes. at the time when joblue wondered how to fix it, we all settled on using bondo or something of the like. in the video, though?

SOLDER.

i don’t know why that didn’t dawn on me straight away, i mean it only makes sense. i’m going to try it eventually, and what i’m most anxious to see is if the solder actually holds as the frame is battered and stressed.

but the bottom line is to fill the holes with a good amount of solder, file it down smooth, and paint! brilliant!
