this bike is made by joseph ahearne, who’s best known for his FLASK HOLDERS. this is one of my favorite kinds of bikes, the gears-in-back kind. i’ve made a bike like this before, and having a choice in gearing, though without all the doubling up of multiple front rings, is something that’s long been a joy of mine to run. but note here, this one? it’s a commuter/touring/randonneur, but it has an S+S coupler there by the bb, along with a bolt attachment for the seatstays (just under the seat collar), and even the RACKS break down, and this baby ends up fitting in an airline-legal case. APPROVED. (this bike is rocking the same ENO cranks/chainwheel that i run on loos3y, btw.)

this alchemy bike is sick as fuck in it’s combo oldTimey/newTimey way (also very reminiscent of one fix-e, ey?), but the sweetest thing ever is in that detail, where holes are drilled and tubes brazed INTO the the wheelstays for stability. this is rather than putting a crossmember there. i’d imagine it only saves a handful of grams, but anything that’s a new way of reimagining a basic is OK with me.

AWESOME. this is a bilenky, out of philadelphia. dig the custom rack with integrated headlights (runs off a dynamo in the front hub — SICK), and that ill chainguard. also love the cable hangers for the rear brake (the small pulley behind the seat tube), and the internally-geared rear hub.

this is actually a kid’s bike, and the sweetness is that it has an integrated playing card holder on the lower left wheelstay. how sweet is THAT? from keith anderson. also dig the road/track-inspired seat tube, but pushed to the next level with an integrated fender. disc brakes and a brooks finish it off. kids bike, my ass.
