i’m not really much for the colorscheme, but those are fucking DOPE. it’s an expired ebay auction, so i have no link for you, but suffice it to say that they are especially desirable because eddy merckx was the first person who adidas ever made cycling shoes for, back in 71, which of course began a long history of exceptional adidas cycling shoes to this day.

and for those of you who don’t know who merckx is, he’s been called "the most accomplished rider that cycling has ever known," by french publication velo, and "the most successful cyclist of all time," by american publication veloNews. according to HIS WIKI PAGE, he won the tour de france five times, won all the classics except paris-tours, won the giro d’italia and the vuelta a españa, won the world championship as an amateur and a professional, and broke the world hour record. he was both a track and road rider, and is generally acknowledged as the greatest cyclist ever to live.

it only makes sense then, that adidas would honor him over the years!
