ty10 Oh The Horror: Geeking out on the Electric Bike

R3 Lieutenant Akua sent me this Japanese geek techie mag, and it had all sorts of wierd wrongness in it, the rest of which you can read about here. But the primary article was a several-page campaign talking about how awesome electric-powered dutch bikes are in lieu of boring, lame, difficult and apparently hazard-attracting conventional bicycles. The article had several awkward, fun-loving Japanese geeks riding electric bikes and kicking legs out or throwing peace signs.

I have to be honest with you: it wasn’t a fair and balanced article, from what i could tell.

ty11 Oh The Horror: Geeking out on the Electric Bike

Please note this article posits all sorts of perils for the 70′s white guy hipster, avoided when riding an electric bicycle:
- bear attacks
- train runovereds
- child-bearing
- impossible climbing challenges

I never realized biking in Japan was this tough. No wonder everyone worships the Kierin guys!
