i noted a week or so BACK that chrome bags was willing to make me some extension straps for my bag, and today they came through. i got the call in the afternoon and swung by on my way home. i asked the cute grrl at the front, "hey, did [manager/owner guy] leave a package here for [ironlung]?" "he sure did," she said with a smile, "and are you [ironlung]?" "the one and only," i tole. she handed me the package, a medium-sized envelope with my name and phone number on it, and then she handed me an invitation to their christmas party … "hey, we’re having a christmas party next weekend, you should come." (you better fuckin believe it.) "thanks, i will! how much do i owe you guys for this?" "nothing."

that’s right, they gave me these extension straps for NOTHING. because i asked. because i had a need that would expand on the usefulness of their bags. or maybe because i look like a messenger, i don’t know, but either way, THAT’S doing good business.

so here’s the straps…

they’re made of the same reflective-woven nylon material that all the straps on their bags are made of, which is fucking sweet, (and also why the picture’s blinding, sorry) they’re about 2 feet long a piece, and each one has both a male and a female end on it…

you can see on the female end that i had to tie the strap on there — eventually, i’ll get a grommet gun or something and secure that a little more proper, but for now, it works just fine. when you extend the bag’s existing straps to their capacity and then add these on here, you get almost 3 feet of wrappage. just enough for, say … a vacuum cleaner!

that’s right, that’s a picture of me carrying a fucking vacuum cleaner on my back. (note — the straps aren’t even CLOSE to completely extended in that picture.) all thanks to chrome bags and their amazing customer service, attentiveness to detail, and willingness to go the extra mile.

this experience has COMPLETELY sold me on this company. hey, i don’t know if i’ll ever buy another bag from them, but i can tell you this — between the quality and unbelievable usefulness of the bag itself, and it’s new, completely expanded (heh) uberCapacity, this one purchase has exceeded every expectation i’ve ever had in ANY retail situation. i’m completely in love with this company and with this experience.

CHROME BAGS ARE THE SHIT.
