crookcomp2 Bike Build Process Log: Crook The Extrusion ish

You know I like my extrusions before I build. I suffer great anxiety waiting to take that shot, not building in increments so I can save everything for that one moment. So imagine my dismay at a three day weekend, and everything in hand… except for the effing WHEELS!

Our man in Team Lope East built me some sweet sweet wheels, which I’ll wrote about separately, and shipped them over a week ago. But thanks to slower than normal shipping due to storms and the like, we got to the weekend and the package was in Northern California, but not HERE. Anyway, long story short, they arrived monday mid-day, which was awesome. But on Saturday, there was no guarantee the wheels would be even be in my hands on TUESDAY. So I attempted something dodgy: I took the extrusion, and toled the wheels in later. I attempted to shoot the wheels in the same place and at the same time of day, but there were deviations. For one, when I dismantled the extrusion on Saturday, I laid out BBQ tools to define the edges of where the wheels would need to be. However, about 20 minutes later, my wifebot(tm) came into the kitchen, where I was feeding wee Z, and lambasted my poor clean-up skills from the BBQ earlier that afternoon with one Lung. Waving my BBQ tools at me. I had to laugh. I should have known better than to use greazy tools for markers. That does not stand in my house. Further, Monday was also fair weather, but slightly more overcast, so the light levels weren’t exactly the same. And without the markers, I wasn’t exactly right on the new wheel location.

Now, I’m not photomanip expert by any means, but I took a pass at it. I think it looks OK, until you note the disparity in the wood slats. But still, overall, done is done.

On to the build!
