So after a ride on Ghostal with the bulls, i decided to go whole hog and push the grips up to the top instead of the drops. I like my hand position default to be wherever the break-I-mean-brake is, and I have a shot lever up near the stem, so it seemed the way to go. What initially appeared to be a fail (these grips being open at both ends and shipped with cheesy white plugs, vs my other white ones that were sealed at one end) turned out to be a super-WIN, since it meant I didn’t have to cut the tips and get those jaggy edges from when the rubber invariably stretches.
Anyhow, setting aside the fact that the WIndex up IN there isn’t fully evaporated yet, it was a DREAM to ride home. It feels great and looks rad. I suspect I’ll wine-cork the ends to keep the rust out and the evisceration-risk to a minimum, but I’m loving it right now…
