thomsonpostery Ode to the Thomson Seatpost Reprise

I’ve already gushed about how much I love my Thomson seatpost, in my Crook build process log. But let me tell you, the gift just keeps on giving. Lung and I both have been doing micro-adjustments on our seat positioning issues on our respective bikes. Before, when this would come up on the Looks, for example, the carbon Ergopost had a single bolt running through the clamp which was impossible to reach and so ungainly that it made precision adjustment challenging: as you’d fumble with tightening it, you’d lose the position half the time (this always happened out in the wild, not in the shop with a nice long allen key of course)…

The Thomson has TWO adjustment bolts, fore and aft. It even has a radial measurement tool so you can keep track of your angle setting. This is of course relative to the angle of any given seat tube, but nonetheless, very handy. I brought the seat forward about 4mm and titled the nose down 1 degree so we’ll see how that works out tonight.

I know some in the Team Lope colors decry the two-bolt system for being a pain in the ass, but I happen to like it just fine.
